API Keys
Create keys to use the VINSI API for calls, agents, phone numbers, tools, and CRM data.

Overview
API keys belong to your organization. Every request to the API Reference endpoints needs one. Manage keys in Settings → API Keys (avatar menu → Settings).
Create an API Key
Only organization admins can create and revoke keys.
- Go to Settings → API Keys.
- Click + Add API Key.
- Enter an API Key Name that says where it's used (e.g. "Website booking form").
- Click Add API Key.
- In Copy your new API key, click Copy and store the key somewhere safe, then click Done.
The full key is shown only once. Afterwards the list shows it masked. If you lose a key, revoke it and create a new one.
Keys start with sk_. The list shows each key's Name, masked Key, Created At, and Last Used.
Using Your Key
Send the key in the x-api-key header. The base URL is https://dashboard.vinsi.ai.

Errors
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
401 Invalid api key | The key is missing, mistyped, or revoked. |
402 subscription_inactive | Your organization's subscription isn't active — check Billing. |
Revoke a Key
Organization admins can click the trash icon and Revoke API Key. Anything using the key stops working immediately. This can't be undone — create a new key and update your integration.
Best Practices
- Use a separate key for each integration so you can revoke one without breaking others.
- Keep keys on your server — never put them in website code, mobile apps, or public repositories.
- Revoke keys you no longer use; check Last Used to find them.
- If a key may have leaked, revoke it right away and create a new one.
